Safina Kimbokota used mixed media, including paper and recycled fabrics, and paint and black ink, to create her map of Tanzania. She depicts the rich geographical landscape and natural beauty of Tanzania including the Indian Ocean and Lake Victoria, which are represented by fish. The variety of African patterns in the fabric symbolize the rich diversity of cultures in Tanzania and each region is a depicted by a different pattern symbolizing aspects of African identity.
