Our Story

The World Maps Collaborative was formed when two returned Peace Corps Volunteers were looking for maps to celebrate the places they had lived and loved.  All they could find were antique maps created by colonizers or modern digital maps made by artists with no connection to the country depicted.   The Collaborative was formed to create a global market for local artists to sell maps they created of their countries or communities.

The artists are paid an initial commission for their artwork and then receive the net profits from each map sold.  By purchasing a map from the World Maps Collaborative you are telling a story about the places you love while supporting artists from around the globe.
