Safina Said Kimbokota

Safina Kimbokota was born in the Lindi region of Tanzania and grew up in Dar es Salaam.  Kimbokota realized her passion for art as a teenager.  She is continuously inspired by her natural surroundings and  incorporates recycled metals and plastics in her sculptures and paintings to depict the outdoor world.  Her art centers around her desire to share the beauty of her beloved country with the world.  Kimbokota currently works as a permanent artist in residence at the University of Dar es Salaam.
