Yosef Pendragon was born in Santa Ana, El Salvador but lived most of his life in Chalchuapa, a beautiful colonial city with strong Mayan roots. Pendragon’s art reflects a mixture of colonial and Mayan influences and incorporates elements of Naif, Fauvisim and surrealism as well as themes from Pendragon’s Jewish history. His paintings often depict the end of the day as the sun is setting or the darkness of night. Pendragon’s magical and mystical paintings can be found in galleries and museums throughout El Salvador.
